Owner | Director of Operations
Laurel Elm takes a warm and professional approach to hospitality, channeling the high standards and passion of what service once was. While working her way through the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she found herself drawn to the pace of hospitality. Laurel worked her way through various front of the house as well as managerial positions which helped lay the foundation and appreciation for fine dining.
After a stint away from the industry and in need of a challenge, she set out to pursue her MBA from Hamline University. During this time, she became area director for Hemispheres Restaurant Partners and joined the team at La Belle Vie where she quickly rose to become assistant general manager. Here, she met Chef Adam Eaton and developed her position as a leader and mentor to others. Additionally, she competed in and won the title in the Iron Bartender competition by the United States Bartender’s Guild. Soon after, she met restaurant owner Tim Niver, and was asked to run The Strip Club Meat & Fish for two years before she was given the opportunity to open Saint Dinette as general manager.
Laurel takes pride in service and believes the key to hospitality is all about the details of perfection without the pretention. She looks to create a space where people can treat themselves, find a home away from home or just come for a respite from daily life. Laurel embraces the front and back of house as partners, creating a collaborative environment where she can act as a mentor. At Saint Dinette, she has found her home and shares that desire to make others feel just as welcome.
